The October Teacher of the Month for IMS is Amber Rice.
Mrs. Rice creates a fun atmosphere for teachers, staff and students to work in. She has created an awesome work space for her classes using flexible seating, carpet spaces, and booths for students to sit in this school year. Mrs. Rice has also brought excitement to her Yearbook class, which is a new class for her this year. She helps out however she can, whether it be doing Academic Assistance after school or sharing her flyers for Blended Learning with IMS teachers. Mrs. Rice is a wonderful asset to the building and we are happy to have her!

Student of the Month for October is Savannah Newberry!
"Savannah exemplifies the Bulldog Way in her actions every day while at IMS. She has a big heart and is kind to her peers. You will often see her voluntarily helping a classmate who is struggling on an assignment or offering to help with little tasks around the classroom. A hard worker, Savannah completes her assignments on time and always participates in class. She gives her all and takes pride in her school work."
We are so proud of you Savannah! #TheBulldogWay

Our Female Athlete of the Week is Emma Ferguson! Coach says "My nominee for this week is Emma Ferguson. Emma has been a great addition to our team this year. She isn't afraid to be challenged and plays to the best of her abilities. She's coachable and takes what she's learned into her matches to improve every time she steps onto the court. Emma is a great teammate and has helped her teammates get better. Emma has gone from "playing tennis" to being a "tennis player" in the aspect of thinking about what to do in certain situations during the match."
Great job, Emma! Keep it up! #TheBulldogWay

Here is your Terrific Tuesday, Bulletin. #thebulldogway

Our Male Athlete of the Week is Oliver Matlock! Coach says "This week’s athlete of the week is Oliver Matlock! As a coaching staff it brings great pleasure selecting him as he brings a great deal of talent to our football team. Since day one, Oliver competes to his best on the field. Not only is he dedicated, but his attitude in the classroom matches his passion on the field. Oliver embodies the spirit of teamwork with a perfect track record of doing things the right way. Keep working hard and we’re looking forward to seeing great things from you!"
Oliver, we are so proud of you! #TheBulldogWay

Going to be a great week! #TheBulldogWay

Our Female Athlete of the Week is Lucy McAfee! Coach says "I nominate Lucy McAfee for athlete of the week. Coaches can tell that Lucy wants to continue to improve on her volleyball skills. Lucy listens to every bit of feedback and then goes and tries to apply it. During huddles she is not distracted and is engaged in the conversation by making eye contact constantly with whichever coach is talking and nodding in response. Even while on the court if she makes a mistake she looks over at the coach for feedback. Lucy's passing has improved. In drills and games she is making more and more passes right to the setter on serve receive. She is becoming more confident in her ability to serve. Lucy is new to the sport of volleyball but her willingness to seek out ways to become a better player makes her valuable to the team because it has led to improvement. Everyone makes mistakes but when Lucy makes a bad pass or misses a serve it seems to motivate her to want to do/be better. With this attitude there is no limit on what she will be able to do in the future. "
Lucy, we sure are proud of you! #TheBulldogWay

Our Male Athlete of the Week is Maddox Purvis! Coach says "Maddox Purvis is this week’s Athlete of the Week! This week the team faced a difficult challenge. As true leaders rise, Maddox rose to the occasion when the team struggled. Proving that hard work and resilience can turned obstacles into success! While Maddox fought through adversity, he stayed committed to the process and helped inspire his teammates through his actions. We're very proud of the grit and the never give up attitude!"
Maddox, we are proud of you! #TheBulldogWay

Here is the bulletin for Friday, September 20th. #thebulldogway

We want to recognize this team of girls. We had a coach that wanted to nominate the entire team for Athlete of the Week, but we wanted to give them all some credit.
Coach said the following, "Last night was the easily one of the best games I’ve coached in 4 years. 8C won 25-9 and 25-7. They all stepped up and played their part as a team, we only went with 7 girls so I talked to them about their playing time and making their serves. They sat and watched the 7c games, never played around, cheered them on and were very encouraging. During their game, they were very positive, so many compliments, even when they messed up they were giving each other high fives. The 7 players that played last night had no attitudes. Serves make a game and the girls only missed 2 serves the entire game! I’ve never been more proud to be a bulldog and have them represent the middle school. Even the other coach compliment our players and their positiveness."
Love to see and hear great things from, not only our coaches, but opposing coaches. Love that our kids are showing #TheBulldogWay everywhere!!!! GREAT JOB Bulldogs!

Lady Bulldogs traveled to two different destinations for volleyball, Fort Scott and Chanute.
@ Chanute -
8C - 2-0
7C - 2-0
@ Fort Scott -
8B - 2-0
7B - 1-2
8A -0-2
7A - 0-2
Overall, the ladies competed hard. They didn't get the result they wanted, but they will get back to practice and work hard! #TheBulldogWay
