I am so proud of how she has totally stepped out of her comfort zone to join our team and has excelled in doing so. Stella comes to every practice and meet with a smile on her face and a positive attitude, ready to give her best effort. Our Male Athlete of the Week is Kellen Ebert! Coach says "Kellen Ebert has been participating in quiz bowl since the 6th grade "Taste of Quiz Bowl". This year, Kellen has really blossomed into a team leader and has become one of our most improved teammates to earn a spot on our A squad. He is our "jack of all trades" team member who has a wide range of knowledge and helps fill any gaps on our squad. He is dependable and has had nearly perfect attendance at our practices. Kellen is an all-around great kid who is an excellent student and leader in our school and community. I am so proud of Kellen and am glad he is a part of our team!" Great job Kellen! Eighth grade parents many of you have asked about how to create a recognition ad for your child. Follow the steps below to create the ad. 1. Use this link https://www.jostens.com/apps/jcom/router.mvc?affiliateId=1070815. 2. Once you have clicked the link and entered the site click on yearbook. 3. Then click on Recognition Ad. 4. Click on Create a Student Ad. 5. At this point it will ask you to create an account. 6. Once you have an account you can follow the directives given to create the ad. Deadline is May 3, 2023 These ads help the yearbook out financially as we receive 100% of the ad money generated for student recognition ads.

Allyn Harmon-Moore is our Male Athlete of the Week! Coach says "Allyn Harmon-Moore has been involved with quiz bowl since the 6th grade "taste of quiz bowl" and he has really evolved as a leader on our team this year, earning a spot on our A squad with his efforts in practice and at meets. He is quick on the buzzer and has confidence in his answers, which he showed at our first couple meets of the season this week. I love his fierce determination trying to answer every question! Allyn also maintains excellent grades and is a leader around our school, as well on our team. I am proud of Allyn and can't wait to see all that he accomplishes this season with our team!" Lucy York is our Female Athlete of the Week. Coach says "Lucy York, one of our 7th grade team members, participated in our 6th grade "Taste of Quiz Bowl" and was a student volunteer during our home tournament last year. She enjoyed helping so much that she and another student came to our practices to help with buzzers and questions nearly every day. That experience has helped her pick up the quiz bowl rules and etiquette quickly this year and Lucy has become a force on our B squad this season, getting more confident at every meet. She answered several questions to help lead her team to a 2nd place finish at a tough Pittsburg tournament. I appreciate the positivity and sense of humor that Lucy brings to our practices and meets. Not only is Lucy a wonderful teammate, but she is always a great leader around our school, with top-notch grades and excellent behavior. KAY Club Members attended their KAY Unit Conference on February 5th at Marmaton Valley. They learned about some amazing opportunities and wrote letters to the people at the Ronald McDonald House. #TheBulldogWay
We had our annual spelling bee where the top two winners advance to the Montgomery County spelling bee later this month. Kacie Almazan earned 1st place, Kolton Foraker earned 2nd place and Torison Wullenschneider is the alternate, earning 3rd. Congrats to all the kids that competed today!
Our Classified Staff of the Month is Woodman Hayes. Mr. Hayes works in our tech department and always has a smile on his face. He is so helpful and goes above and beyond for our staff and students. Mr. Hayes embodies #TheBulldogWay. Thank you for all you do!
Our Male Athlete of the Week is Brodie Small! his coaches say "Brodie Small is our Athlete of the Week, Brodie is a hard working young man, he always comes to work with a positive attitude. When Brodie is off the court he is an amazing student with straight A’s. Brodie also participates in a dual sport this season, both in basketball/quiz bowl. Our Female Athlete of the Week is Lauren Blackard! Coach says "Lauren Blackard is new to quiz bowl this year, but has quickly learned the rules/etiquette of quiz bowl and each week she is gaining more and more confidence on the buzzers and in herself. She has been a force at our first two tournaments of the season, helping earn quite a few points for her team. Lauren comes to practice everyday with a smile and a positive attitude, ready to give her best. I appreciate the quiet leadership she brings to our team and the school, all while maintaining excellent grades throughout the year.
