Our Male Athlete of the Week is Jeremiah Melugin. Coach says "Jeremiah dedicated himself to a perfect attendance this summer in the weight room. Everyday he showed up, worked his tail off and demonstrated great leadership. Jeremiah is a hard working kid and is a very coachable kid on the football field. " We are so proud of you! Students in Mr. Ellison's 6th grade robotics class built a light dependent resistor(LDR) to detect different light levels today. The students explored the building and outside to see how different areas measured on their devices. Students will continue to explore different concepts in electronics and robotics throughout the course using a variety of fun activities!

Due to extreme heat, we are moving our outdoor practices (football/girls tennis) to morning practices starting Tuesday, August 22, 2023. This will help our students continue to get the practice they need, but also maintain safety, which is our first priority. Football practice will be across the street from IMS, from 6am - 730am. Parents are responsible for bringing students to practice; students can shower in the locker room before school starts or parents can pick them up and bring them back to IMS by 8am. Girls tennis will be from 6am - 715am at the tennis courts. Parents will be responsible for transporting students to practice and picking them up at 715 am at the courts and bring them to IMS by 8 am.
Practice today will remain outside as scheduled. Coaches will take the necessary heat precautions to ensure safety including frequent water breaks; practice will be slower paced. Not much going on outside of the school day but Monday is going to start off our week with some events. Any parent with a student playing Fall Sports needs to plan to come to the parent meeting at 6 pm in the IMS cafeteria.
