As basketball competitions start this week, there are some rule changes that the public should be aware, especially the elimination of the one and one free throw rule.
All rule changes can be read at https://www.nfhs.org/sports-resource-content/basketball-rules-changes-2023-24/

8th grade Science students participated in a lab last week about cow reproductive organs. Thank you Mr. Stanford and Mrs. Willis for bringing Science to life for our students.

We are excited about this new tradition that begins this year! We are starting a "School Dual" this year with Cherryvale. This will be a wrestling dual that occurs during the school day to help bring some school spirit to both the schools. In its inaugural year Cherryvale will host at Thayer Elementary/Middle School. Coach Camacho (Indy) and Coach Lickteig (Cherryvale) have done a great job of helping create this event. Next year, this event will be held in Indy! Come out on 11/1 to watch these athletes compete! #TheBulldogWay

Mrs. Reardon's Blended Learning students did a service project during class and team
building time. We are making crafts for Mrs. Ballard to take to Medicalodge of Independence, a nursing home here in Independence. We hope they spread a little joy and cheer to their residents!

Mrs. Allens blended learning group participated in "Neewollah Olympics" today. Teams competed in 5 events - ghost tower building, make-a-mummy, witch's caldron pong, ghost cup stacking, and word search wizardry. Lots of teambuilding and fun was had! :)
