Independence Debate and Forensics team member, Nicholas Connors, has earned the National Speech and Debate Association Speaking and Service Award!
Out of over 140,000 National members, fewer than 300 receive this recognition annually. Service points are awarded to students who have demonstrated their commitment to using their speaking skills to help their peers, their community, and the activities of Speech and Debate. Nicholas has earned the maximum of 200 points for the 2022-2023 school year.

Today, 35 IHS choir students worked with KU’s Choral Music faculty on the pieces for their District and State Choir auditions. Students from all three choirs are auditioning! The auditions are on November 4th.
IHS KAY Club has partnered with AWOL and will be planning and hosting adoption events. Our first event will be on Saturday, October 21st at Riverside Park. We will have several dogs at the event available for adoption. If you would like to help sponsor one of the dogs, please reach out to Susan Weaver sweaver@indyschools.com. We will also have AWOL tee-shirts and pet costumes available for purchase just in time for Halloween. Come by and see us and maybe find a new best friend!
