The IHS chapter of the National Honor Society was recently awarded the Excellence in Scholarship award for their peer tutoring initiative, PAW (Peer Assistance Wednesdays). NHS members are available in the IHS library after school on Wednesdays from 2:45 until 3:45 in order to offer peer assistance and tutoring to students looking for academic help. This innovative approach to scholarship and academic achievement within Independence High School earned the NHS national recognition as a chapter committed to upholding one of the key pillars of the NHS. Congratulations to NHS sponsors Halle Connors and Rene Stanley and to NHS members who give their time and talent to help other students succeed.

She is focused on finding success in school, she is not afraid to ask questions, and she seems to have done something few sophomores can: rise above immaturity. She is kind to fellow students and treats teachers with respect. #BulldogPRIDE

BREAKING NEWS IHS announces Aimee Lakin as the Teacher of the Month! She has handled everything that has been thrown at her with grace and beauty. She works tirelessly to make sure everyone on our team is seen and heard. She has such a kind heart and a sweet personality. She is such a great listener, too. She always listens to me vent and never judges. She is truly a one-in-a-million person and friend. #BulldogPRIDE

BREAKING NEWS IHS announces Wendi McDaniel as the Classified Employee of the Month! Wendi brings joy, humor, and creativity to the office and does it every day with a smile! She seamlessly stepped into a new role, while at times holding the old one, and even when training, she does not miss a beat. Our kids love her, our staff respect her, and her customer service on the phone is outstanding. Wendi makes IHS a great place! #BulldogPRIDE

BREAKING NEWS Bulldog Strength and Conditioning teacher Mr. Camacho has integrated new equipment into our program. The recent addition of new exercise bikes to our weight room has proven to be a game changer for our training program. These bikes are not just equipment; they are invaluable tools that enhance our athletes' conditioning and complement our core lifts effectively. They also help injured athletes maintain their fitness levels, making them a crucial asset in our training regimen. Their versatility allows us to incorporate a variety of workouts, ensuring that all athletes can benefit regardless of their physical condition. As we integrate these bikes into our training sessions, we are eager to see the positive impact they will have on our athletes' performance this season. The excitement surrounding this new addition is palpable, and I am confident that they will significantly enhance our program. #BulldogPRIDE
