Forensics

Release:

On Saturday, May 7th, the Independence High School Forensics team competed in Topeka, KS at the 4A State Championship Tournament. Competing students were Juniors: Devon Mitchell and Wyatt Blevins; Sophomore: Sarah Lasater; and Freshmen: Bryson Odell, Remington Waldner, Michael Williams, Megan Foster, and Nick Connors. 

While the rest of the team was eliminated in the preliminary rounds, Devon Mitchell and Wyatt Blevins advanced to Semifinals in both Duet Acting and Improvised Duet Acting. 

Mitchell and Blevins, ended their Duet Acting season in Semifinals, placing 9th overall but advanced to the final round of competition with their Improvised Duet Acting event. 

They entered finals in 5th place, and ultimately finished in 3rd. This earned Mitchell and Blevins bronze medals and the 3rd place spot in the entire state for the 4A classification.  

Due to the hardwork and dedication of the entire team, Independence High School placed 16th overall out of 28 schools.
