USD 446 Cell Phone and Device Policy

To comply with HB 2299 (Cell Phone and Social Media Communication Bill), USD 446 has implemented changes to its communication practices.

All social media pages, classroom apps, communication platforms, messaging tools, and extracurricular activity communication tools that have not been approved by the Board of Education will be discontinued.

The Board has approved the following apps as official communication platforms for all district buildings, teachers, coaches, sponsors, programs, extracurricular activities, and district-wide communications:

  • Apptegy Connect

The Board has also approved only the following social media pages to create and publish content on behalf of USD 446:

  • Independence Early Learning Center

  • Eisenhower Elementary

  • Jefferson School

  • Independence Middle School

  • Independence High School

  • USD 446 Independence Public Schools

The district's student information system (Infinite Campus) will continue to be a means of communication as well.  Please partner with us by regularly checking your child’s academic progress.  For the best mobile experience, download the FREE mobile app “Campus P” from your phone’s app store.  The first time you log in, you’ll need to select Kansas for the state and Independence for the district.  From this app, you can easily check your child’s grades, test scores, behavior, attendance, and lunch balance!  Your students can download “Campus S” for their own personalized experience.

Future communications will provide families with the information needed to connect to and use Apptegy Connect, and families will have the opportunity to learn more at central enrollment on August 4-5.
