Congratulations to our very own Mary Swearingen for being named a Region 2 semifinalist for the 2027 Kansas Teacher of the Year.
The mission of the Kansas Teacher of the Year program is to build and utilize a network of exemplary teachers who are leaders in the improvement of schools, student performance, and the teaching profession.
Also recognized posthumously was Whitney Woodward, secondary Kansas Teacher of the Year Nominee. Jan Wiebe accepted the award on her daughter’s behalf.
