Check-In / Check-Out Policy:

Students are scheduled to visit the library once a week for 30 minutes with their reading class.  However, they are welcome anytime!  They may check out three books each visit as long as two of the books are AR books on their reading level.  They are not required to check out any books, but are encouraged to have at least one AR book to read during daily Sustained Silent Reading (SSR) time.

Overdue Policy:

Books are overdue at the end of the school day one week after they have been checked out.  The library sends out weekly reminders to the students of the books they have checked out / overdue.  Students may still come to the library and may check out books, depending on the number of books they still have in their possession.  After a book has been overdue for one month or more, a letter is sent home so that the parent is aware of the overdue book(s).  By the end of the semester, books that are more than one month overdue need to be paid for.  If the book is found (and it usually is soon after it is paid for!), the money is refunded.  We encourage students to use the library and we want students to check out books and read as much as possible, but we do expect them to be responsible borrowers.
