The USD 446 Educational Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. The Foundation was created to help supplement the needs of the students in the school district through scholarships, teacher grants, and supplemental programs. The Foundation is a means to empower students to achieve their goals in life and help educators to go beyond the limits of our financial environment, not just occasionally, but continually.


The mission of the educational foundation is to secure resources to support programs for the enhancement of public education, promote excellence in public education and facilitate positive community relations.

Helping Students

Through private and corporate contributions, the Foundation is able to maintain a permanent endowment fund. It also provides ongoing support for projects such as:

  • Foundation Scholarships
  • Student Assistance Program
  • Learning Enhancement Grants
  • Imagination Library
  • Back to School Celebration
  • Losey Gym Floor Plaques
  • Teaching Grants
  • And much more


 Ways to Support USD 446 Educational Foundation

Annual Sponsorship:  Your annual support

Direct Gifts:  Including cash donations, securities and property.

Planned Gifts:  Including trusts, annuities, wills, or assignment of life insurance policies.

Recognition Gifts:  Including scholarships that honor a family member or an educator.

Memorial Gifts:  Honoring the memory of an individual and offering sympathy to a grieving family.

Alumni Gifts:  Including gifts from individuals as well as graduating classes and alumni reunion gifts.

Matching Gifts:  Check with your employer to see if they have a Matching Gift Program.

Band Instrument Donations:  If you have used instruments you aren’t using, the band program can put them to good use.

Donations to the Independence USD 446 Educational Foundation are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.  The Foundation is an independent organization and not governed by the Independence Public Schools or the USD 446 Board of Education.
