Currently, there are at least 2 networked Pentium computers in each
classroom at Eisenhower Elementary School. Our operating systems are all
Windows-based: Windows XP Professional Edition & Windows 98 SE.
Our computer lab consists of 23 networked Pentium computers and a
full-time computer lab aide. There are numerous software titles
available within the lab to reinforce skills taught in the classroom.
Eisenhower Elementary School also has an Accelerated Reading Program
(AR) available through our network server. Children have the opportunity
to read leveled reading books and then take a comprehension test over
the book on the computer. Students are given points for each correct
response. The points are then accumulated towards various prizes for the
students. This program is very successful at Eisenhower.
