Jamie
Savage is in
the process of losing her Texas accent. She was born and raised in
South Texas. Mrs. Savage began her undergraduate studies at The
University of Texas at San Antonio and graduated with a B.A. in 2002
from Sul Ross State University. In 2004, she graduated with her M.Ed.
in counseling from Sul Ross State University. Prior to moving to
Independence, Mrs. Savage taught at a high school in Texas. In 2005,

Carl Edwards
is in his 34th year as a counselor in schools, having started
his professional life as a bulldog at Linwood High School near
Lawrence. After a brief stint in law school, he was hired in
Fredonia as a counselor/teacher in 1977, and retired in 2008. He
is married, and has 3 grown children--a daughter who teaches in
Topeka, a son working for TIAA-CREF in Denver, and a son at
Washburn University.
Carl enjoys reading and his favorite book is The Lord of the
Rings. He also loves fantasy baseball, is a Red Sox fan (since
1960), has 2 spoiled dogs, and loves helping students with any
question or problem.

Gayle Chapman has
worked in the clerical field for 15 years. She worked in the
Bartlesville area at Phillips 66 and Reda Pump Company before
moving back to Independence. She worked at Woods Lumber before
helping start the Penmac Personnel Office in town. She worked
there for 5 years before staying home and raising her two
younger children. Her and her husband Mike, have 3 daughters.
